My new home

As you might have seen, today I moved my blog here to joeriksson.com. I have not yet redirected my old rss link here because I want all that reads the feed to get a chance to get my last message on my old blog. So I will redirect it tomorrow. But as I mentioned before, the best would be if you manually change your RSS links in your readers, or add a new subscription for this feed.

From now on I will do my posts here, and no more posts will show up at weblogs.asp.net/joeriksson.

First just a few words about my new home at joeriksson.com. As you can see in the left sidebar, I am hosted at ASPNix.com. Since I have access to the server I am running on, I can use some of the add-ins/CSModules that are available. One that I will try to use a lot is Ken's Lightbox module with Flickr integration, simply because it's great, it makes it very easy for me to publish pictures, and I don't have to publish them fullsize since it's very handy to just click the thumbnail to get a fullsize picture without leaving the page.

Also if you look at the top menu, you can see a Media button. That will take you to my Screencast repository where all my screencasts will be available for viewing. No more boring lonely saturday night's, just watch one of the screencast whenever you feel like it. ;-)

Also in this first post, I want to announce that I will take this week off of posting. I have a short vacation from my regular job right now, and have some private matters that I have to attend to. But fear not ;-) Next week I plan to be up and running at 100% as I have the last couple of months, with about 3-4 posts a week, and a friday screencast.

In any case, until then, welcome to my new home. Hope you enjoy!

So I wanted to ask you if you are using a shared host or dedicated host at this new hosting company ? I am using a kind of combined shared/dedicated host right now at ASPNIX. But before I moved here I was on a shared host, or maybe.... I don't know. I was on weblogs.asp.net before where I just got a blog, and didn't have to worry about the other things CS.

At the ASPNix machine that hosts my blog today, there are a couple of other websites, but now as much as a regular shared host would have I believe.

I believe you could ask Rick (of ASPNix), what he thinks he can do for you on a shared hosting plan, regarding the traffic you might expect.
