The CS MVPs CSModule project has its first release

Old news for some, I know but... A couple of weeks ago, no it's actually over a month ago, I talked about a developer project that me and a couple of college MVPs started. We planned to create a couple of CSModules over at CodePlex, to serve as examples of how CSModules can be done, but also hoped that the CSModules we did would be of good use for some of you.

Well, that project has just had it's first release as announced by Keyvan Nayyeri over at CSMVPs.com.

In the end we released 6 CSModules, and a blogrule utility that hooks into Akismet.

  • AutoMedia by Gary McPherson
  • YouTube by Gary McPherson
  • PostSignature by Jayson Knight
  • NewUserDefault by J-O Eriksson
  • SyndicationAds by Keyvan Nayyeri
  • WhiteSpaceFilter by Keyvan Nayyeri
  • AkismetSpamRule (utility) by Thomas Freudenberg

With Gary's YouTube module, which I really like, I hope I am going to be able to use it for my screencasts, if I can get the right quality on that screensize that is. So far I haven't, but still it's a really cool module!

Read more and get links to download and try them out here! I hope we might do some more modules in the future, as well as some ASP .NET Server controls, and maybe a CSJob or two.

Hi ASB, Yes I do, I created it by reading his article, and made my own picture for it. I am not really happy about the picture yet, and I haven't got it to work on the first page of the blog. I might do some more work on it further on.

J-O, I've actually just converted all of the code for those dates into a server control. It inherits from WeblogThemedControl, so it's skinned just like any other CS blog control. Plus, you should be able to just drop it on your EntryList skin and have it work with no fuss. http://blog.ninjafish.net/archive/2006/08/14/NinjaFish.CommunityServer.aspx

Sounds great Justin! I'll make sure I take a look at that server control and try it out.
