Popular Topics - Follow up

After I posted the article about the Popular Topics yesterday, Thomas Freudenberg asked me:

"Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't AggregatePostList supposed to do this?"

He also pointed me to an article from May this year, posted by Jaxon Rice.

And, of course, Thomas is correct! The AggregatePostList control does exactly what my control does, and some more. But I didn't realize that when I was searching for a control to do the Popular Topics.

Sometimes the solution is to close to be seen. Geeked

Since AggregatePostList is a built-in and supported control, it is better to use that!

So is there any pros with the control I just built? Don't know. Could be that it might be easier to implement, as it follows the style of your blog skin "out of the box".
